Since the advent of the new democracy, May Day in South Africa has been declared a public holiday in honour of the historic part played by workers in the war against apartheid. To celebrate this day and highlight the value of workers to the South African economy, Ubank has embarked on a journey with COSATU as an ongoing sponsor of the May Day worker’s rally.
It is with great pride that Ubank acknowledges workers as the founders of this Bank and recognises that without them we would not exist, hence we align with COSATU’s annual May Day celebration.
Ubank salutes all workers who have been at the forefront of our prosperous and united nation. Our country would not be where it is today without the contribution and sacrifices of those dedicated, selfless and committed workers.
